Former Florida cornerback C.J. Henderson has been recognized as the NFL’s top rookie performer in Week 1.

The NFL announced Friday that Henderson was voted the NFL’s Rookie of Week 1 by fans. Henderson played a key part in the Jacksonville Jaguars’ 27-20 win over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.

In his NFL debut, Henderson snagged the first interception of his pro career. Henderson later came through with a pass breakup that secured the victory for the Jaguars.

As a junior, Henderson recorded 33 tackles (three for loss), a sack and 11 passes broken up in nine games (missing three contests due to an ankle sprain and the Orange Bowl after declaring for the NFL Draft). He finished his UF career with 6 interceptions, 22 passes broken up, 7 tackles for loss, four sacks and 2 forced fumbles. Jacksonville selected Henderson with the No. 9 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
