Before the Florida Gators started the 2021 season, they became short at linebacker when Andrew Chatfield Jr. announced he had entered the transfer portal.

Now, the former Gator has found a home out on the West Coast with the Oregon State Beavers. Last year with the Gators, Chatfield had 13 tackles and 2.5 sacks.

According to 247Sports, Chatfield was a 4-star defensive end in the 2018 class. He was also the No. 13 overall defensive end and graded as the 38th best player in the state of Florida.

Despite entering the portal, Florida head coach Dan Mullen had left the door open for Chatfield if he wanted to return. But injuries and the emergence of other players for the Gators have kept Chatfield basically on the sideline.

Chatfield tweeted out this Wednesday:

He will be a welcome addition to the Beavers’ roster this season.
