Former Florida TE Jake McGee has signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

McGee played for the Gators in 2015 after three seasons playing for the Virginia Cavaliers. While at Florida in 2014, McGee suffered a season-ending injury. McGee went undrafted in the 2016 NFL draft but signed with the Carolina Panthers as a free agent. McGee has not seen much action to this point, but he is hoping to find a place to stick with the Steelers.

McGee joins a crowded depth chart in Pittsburgh that features returning players Jesse James and David Johnson ahead of him. Hopefully he can make the opening day roster and find ways to contribute.

McGee appeared in 11 games at Florida with 41 receptions, 381 yards, and four TD’s. He finished his collegiate career with 112 catches, 1,150 yards, and 11 TDs.
