Graham Mertz has been a huge part of Florida’s success this season.

The Gators’ quarterback who transferred from Wisconsin has been nearly perfect with the ball. According to PFF, he has only had 1 turnover worthy play so far this season, which is the fewest among quarterbacks.

While he does have 2 interceptions on the year, the state indicates that he has only been responsible for 1 of his turnovers.

Along with being accurate with the ball, Mertz has racked up 1,897 yards and a pair of touchdowns on the season. His yards total is 4th best in the SEC and his completion percentage of 76% is an SEC best so far.

He has led the Gators to a 5-2 start and has already notched a big win over Tennessee. Florida has a week of this weekend with the bye, but will have its biggest test of the season when it returns to action to take on Georgia.

If Mertz can keep playing as well as he has, Florida has a good chance of winning some more key games.
