Jim McElwain again attempts to explain previous 'death threats' comments
If there’s one thing you can count on Florida coach Jim McElwain to do, it’s making seemingly small issues turn into big deals.
Earlier this year, his bizarre responses to a strange photo of a nude man that looked like McElwain on a shark kept that story in the headlines for a while, and now he’s doing it again.
Earlier this week, McElwain said he and his family had received death threats from disgruntled fans — an issue many coaches deal with, sadly.
However, his response on Wednesday morning didn’t do much to shed any light on the issue, and neither did his Wednesday evening press conference remarks:
Mac on death threats: 'Sometimes things are on your mind and I go ahead and speak it.'

"Allowing the clutter to get to you is not what we're all about," Mac said.

"It's what I tell our guys exactly not what to do," Mac said of letting the threats get to him.

Death threats should never be a “distraction,” as it is more than fair to be concerned when a threat, no matter how legitimate, is issued.
However, Mac’s subsequent responses to the issue have only made it seem stranger. Much like the shark photo, this odd situation is seemingly going to continue to be something he faces questions about moving forward.
