Kyle Pitts suffered a serious right knee injury and on Tuesday underwent season-ending surgery to repair the MCL injury.

The good news is that although he’s out for the season, Atlanta Falcons coach Arthur Smith shared that, “Nothing that concerns us going into 2023.”

This season, Pitts recorded just 28 catches for 356 yards and 2 touchdowns. Pitts suffered the injury during the Week 11 win over the Bears, and on Tuesday evening, he shared a picture on his Instagram account following his procedure.

Pitts suffered a hit to the lower body in the Falcons’ first offensive drive of the second half. He initially popped up and ran to the sideline on his own, but he did not return to the field thereafter.

The former Florida star and No. 4 overall pick has had a dropoff in production this season in part because of the Falcons’ shift to a more run-oriented attack, and the move from Matt Ryan to Marcus Mariota at quarterback. Last season, he had 68 catches for 1,026 yards and a touchdown.
