The chain of events that ended the LSU-Florida game was crazy. Florida threw an interception, and LSU returned the INT to the Florida 36. With 24 seconds remaining, LSU chose a run play which gained 3 yards. Without a timeout, the clock approached zero while LSU scrambled to position for a field goal attempt. With the clock winding down, the officials stopped the game and added time to the clock citing a delay of game from the Florida players. The extra time permitted LSU to spike the ball before kicking a 50-yard game winning field goal.
