Malik Davis will look to play professionally in 2022.

Redshirt senior Florida running back announced Tuesday he will enter the NFL Draft. Davis had the option to return for a sixth season as the NCAA did not count 2020 against athletes’ 4-in-5 eligibility window.

Davis was an SEC All-Freshman in 2017 despite suffering a season-ending injury against Georgia. In 2018, Davis redshirted after 3 games because he suffered a second season-ending injury.

Davis had a limited role coming off of injury in 2019 before settling into Florida’s running back rotation the past 2 seasons as a ball-carrier and pass-catcher. In 2021, Davis started 11 of 12 games, recording 92 carries, a career-high- for 487 yards and 5 touchdowns. He also caught 23 passes for 217 yards and 2 TDs in his fifth year. Davis’ career-highs in rushing and receiving came in 2017 (526 rushing yards) and 2020 (377 receiving yards).
