It hasn’t taken very long for an ESPN NFL analyst to question a coaching decision by Urban Meyer.

Keep in mind, we are over 100 days away from Meyer’s debut as Jaguars head coach.

If you missed it, Jacksonville used a first-round pick in Clemson running back Travis Etienne in the 2021 NFL Draft. Picking a running back in the first round is risky, even if that back is the ACC’s all-time leading rusher — he rushed for 4,952 yards and 70 touchdowns in college.

However, drafting a running back in the first round just to try him out at receiver — as the Jaguars did to open rookie minicamp — seems even more questionable.

At least, that’s the way ESPN’s Marcus Spears views it.

“If I see Travis Etienne lined up 70 percent of the snaps at some type of slot position, I’d fire Urban Meyer myself,” Spears says in the clip below.
