Marietta High School opened the 2019 season on Thursday night by traveling to Rome High School and walking off the field with a 48-14 win.

While Marietta’s standout offensive players had themselves quite the day in the game, one of the team’s best defenders turned some heads, too.

One name Florida fans need to know, if they don’t already, is Rashad Torrence II. The Marietta defensive back committed to the Gators back in December and has remained firm in his commitment despite receiving new scholarship offers from Auburn and USC since committing to Dan Mullen’s program. While Auburn and USC are attractive options, they cannot match the sustained level of development the Gators when it comes to producing elite defensive backs.

They call Florida DBU for a reason, after all.

Based on the clip below, the future of DBU is secure in Gainesville as Torrence certainly doesn’t shy away from contact. Check out this clip of this incredible forced fumble Torrence forces with this vicious hit on kick off.
