Report: Key Florida staffer won’t return

On Friday, Florida announced that former All-American Keiwan Ratliff would be returning to the program as the Assistant Director of Player Personnel.

However, just hours later, FootballScoop.com reported that the Gators are losing their actual Director of Player Personnel Chuck Cantor. He came to Florida from Virginia Tech last year, and it appears he’s already on his way out.

This position has had quite the turnover since Mullen arrived. Drew Hughes was already in place when Mullen was hired, but he left for Tennessee shortly thereafter to join Jeremy Pruitt’s staff. Then, E.K. Franks replaced Hughes, as Franks was already on staff, but Franks left for Kentucky rather quickly.

Due to the turnover, Mullen then poached Cantor from Virginia Tech, and here we are.

Although the Ratliff hire was announced Friday, it appears that Florida will be in the market for another key staff hire directly.
