For a while, it appeared that Jim McElwain would not be bringing any of his former staff at Colorado State with him to Florida.

However, according to a report from John Middlekauf, CSU’s Tim Skipper will be making his way to Gainesville to join McElwain’s staff.

Skipper is a relative unknown to the SEC world, but he’s had some impressive collegiate players under his tutelage. As a running backs coach for Fresno State, Skipper was the one responsible for Ryan Matthews’ recruitment and development at Fresno State. Matthews eventually became a first-round pick in the NFL Draft.

As a coach, Skipper is rather versatile. In addition coaching running backs at Fresno State, he’s coached everything from the secondary to being defensive coordinator to finally becoming linebackers coach at Colorado State in 2012.
