The Florida Gators landed their second commitment of the day — third in two days — Friday evening in 4-star LB Derek Wingo.
Wingo (Ft. Lauderdale, Fl) flipped from Penn State to the Gators. The 6-foot-2, 210-pound LB is ranked as the nation’s No. 11 overall OLB and the state of Florida’s No. 24 overall prospect for the class of 2020, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.
Going into South Florida and landing a big-time LB out of St. Thomas Aquinas is huge for Dan Mullen and the Gators. UF is up to 16 commitments for the class of 2020, and currently, Wingo is the third highest rated commitment in the recruiting class behind 4-star DT Gervon Dexter and 4-star WR Leonard Manuel.
