Steve Spurrier would welcome Tim Tebow to quarterback his professional spring league team
One of the few things that could make Steve Spurrier’s return to coaching more popular is if he managed to lure a former Gator quarterback to Orlando to play for his Alliance professional spring league. The Head Ball Coach isn’t ready to rule out that possibility.
During an appearance on the Open Mike radio show, hosted by Mike Bianchi, Spurrier made it clear he would welcome back not just any Florida quarterback to join him in Orlando, but arguably the most recognized Gator QB of all-time — Tim Tebow.
Here’s what Spurrier had to say about the possibility, according to the Orlando Sentinel.
“That would be wonderful,” Spurrier said on the program. “I think Tim knows about our league. He knows he’s welcome to come down (to Orlando) and play.
“Obviously, if his baseball career is going well, he may decide to stick with it, which I would certainly understand. But if it doesn’t go to0 well and he has the urge to play football, we would certainly welcome him in Orlando.”
How quickly would tickets sell out if both Spurrier and Tebow made a return to football next spring in Orlando?
