Florida received a big boost to its defense as former Auburn defensive lineman Tyrone Trusdell was added to the Gators roster on Monday. Trusdell was announced by Tigers head coach Bryan Harsin as no longer part of the Auburn program as of Aug. 10.

As it turns out, it won’t be long until we see Trusdell on the field with his new team. With the Gators set to host FAU at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium on Saturday, according to defensive coordinator Todd Grantham, he’ll be ready to go.

Truesdall had 31 tackles and 5.0 sacks as a junior with the Tigers in 2019. In 9 games in 2020, he recorded 22 tackles and 2.5 sacks. Grantham and Gators head coach Dan Mullen will hope that the Augusta, Ga. product can prove a valuable asset to their defense.

Florida and FAU kick-off from the Swamp on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET. The game can be seen on the SEC Network.
