For any football team, it’s always key to set the proverbial tone. This usually manifests itself with physical play.

During Atlanta’s emphatic 36-20 victory over Seattle in the second round of the 2017 NFL Playoffs, Falcons’ safety (and former Florida player) Brian Poole introduced himself to Seahawks’ quarterback Russell Wilson in a rather emphatic fashion:

Wilson was noticeably rocked with the vicious smack by Poole. As Wilson took off to scramble, the former Gator came up and laid the boom.

Seattle’s been known as the ‘bully on the block’ within the NFC for the past few years. However, it was Atlanta dominating the run of play on both sides of the ball — particularly up front.

The hit by Poole was truly emblematic of the dominant performance by the Falcons on Saturday.
