The Florida secondary was hit hard during the 2017 NFL Draft, with CBs Jalen “Teez” Tabor and Quincy Wilson and S Marcus Maye hearing their names called.
As the Gators prepare for the 2017 season, they’ll have their work cut out for them trying to replace those talented defenders.
Fortunately for Florida fans, true freshman DB Shawn Davis may be ready to make an immediate impact. It’s still early, but Davis’s one-handed interception at Friday’s practice is a positive indication that the Gators may still have some depth in the secondary:

Obviously, it’s still a little early to get excited about one play, but if Davis can continue holding his own during fall camp, he could be counted on to provide depth in the secondary this season.
For the 3-star corner out of Miami, that’s not a bad role to play for a squad that was picked by many to compete for an SEC East title.
