Vernon Hargreaves III got off to a good start to open the season for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The former Florida standout jumped a route and put points on the scoreboard against the San Francisco 49ers.

Hargreaves returned a Jimmy Garoppolo pass 15 yards for an interception turned touchdown to put the Bucs up 7-3 with 8:47 left in the second quarter. It was a textbook jumping of an out route by Hargreaves, as the video from The Checkdown below suggests. That matches Hargreaves’ career total of picks.

Hargreaves is the final player remaining for the Tampa Bay 2016 draft class, and despite hamstring and shoulder injuries, combined with ineffective play, he’s managed to stay on the roster. He has played in only 26 of the team’s 48 games.

At Florida in 2015, Hargreaves was named one of 3 finalists for the Jim Thorpe Award as he was a consensus first-team All-American and All-SEC selection.
