Mike Norvell and the Florida State Seminoles were the talk of college football for the majority of last year after the team started the year 13-0. However, last year ended with the Seminoles missing out on the College Football Playoff, and the team being beat 63-3 in the Orange Bowl.

As bad as that season ended last year, it has been even worse this year. Florida State is now 1-4 after losing 42-16 to SMU on Saturday. The Seminoles had dreams of making the Playoff with it expanding to 12 teams this year, but now making a bowl would be an accomplishment according to the ESPN FPI.

Florida State has only a 5.5% chance of becoming bowl eligible on ESPN’s FPI, which would be the second time in Mike Norvell’s 5 years that they failed to win 6 games in a full season (3-6 in Covid year).

The schedule doesn’t get any easier next week either for Florida State, as the Seminoles are hosting Clemson. The Tigers are currently ranked 15th in the country and have looked much better since getting destroyed by Georgia in Week 1.

Many fans across the country felt bad last year for the Seminoles after they were left out of the CFP. However, many of those fans are starting to think maybe the committee was right after all.
