It’s hard to imagine what more the Georgia Bulldogs could have asked for this year, as Kirby Smart’s squad finished the regular season 12-1 with an SEC championship.

Outside of one major blemish at Auburn, the Bulldogs were perfect, and now have a chance to compete for a national title.

However, that doesn’t mean the Bulldogs’ Christmas list will be empty this year, as there are still a few things they can ask for moving forward into the College Football Playoff and beyond.

Here are five things that Georgia would love to receive for Christmas this year:

1. For Baker Mayfield to do his best Santa impression

Santa Claus makes children’s Christmas mornings bright by delivering presents while they sleep.

Mayfield, the Heisman-winning Oklahoma quarterback, has only thrown five interceptions all year, but the Bulldogs will need him to deliver a couple of gifts if they’re going to win the Rose Bowl.

Mayfield hasn’t faced a defense like Georgia’s yet, though, so it’s possible the Bulldogs can force him into some uncharacteristic mistakes, especially early in the game.

2. An injury-free holiday season

The one thing the Bulldogs can’t afford is a key injury, so they’ll be trying to make it to New Year’s Day with all their starters intact.

Right now, RB Sony Michel (knee) and LB Rashad Roundtree (concussion) are the only key players who are dealing with specific injuries, and Michel is expected to play in the Rose Bowl.

However, as Alabama continues to deal with mounting injuries on the defensive side of the ball, the Bulldogs will try to keep the injury bug out of Athens.

3. Plenty of new jerseys

After the Bulldogs landed six 5-star recruits during the first Early Signing Period, they currently have the nation’s No. 1 recruiting class.

That means Georgia fans, and the Bulldogs’ equipment staff, will have a need for lots of new jerseys. Star QB Justin Fields and DE Brenton Cox will share a No. 1 jersey, but the other young players need to find numbers so they can get their jerseys finalized.

Then, Georgia fans can start to purchase new gear, while still keeping their Nick Chubb and Sony Michel in the closet when they’re feeling nostalgic.

4. An extra year of Roquan Smith

Star LB Roquan Smith is likely going to forgo his senior year and enter the 2018 NFL Draft, where he has a good chance of being a first-round pick.

Smith has all the intangibles and raw athleticism that NFL scouts will love, and if he can get first-round money, it would be hard to fault him for making the jump to the professional ranks.

However, that won’t stop Georgia coaches and fans from wishing for one more year from the star pass rusher and overall outstanding athlete.

5. A fitting farewell to Nick Chubb and Sony Michel

Nick Chubb and Sony Michel have done so much for the Bulldogs over the years, so the team will try to send the senior running backs out in style.

Giving them some jewelry — namely, national championship rings — would be a fitting end to their Georgia careers.

It won’t be easy, as the Dawgs will have to get through Oklahoma and either Alabama or Clemson to win a title, but with Chubb and Michel in the backfield, it won’t be impossible for Georgia to claim its first championship since 1980.
