Aaron Murray knows what it likes to be Carson Beck these days as the former Georgia quarterback reacted to the news that Beck is officially the Georgia starter.

Murray made an appearance on WJOX’s “McElroy and Cubelic In the morning” program, and was asked what he expects out of Beck.

“I want to see him command the offense, I want to see the leadership, too,” he said, and Murray added that he recently spoke with Beck about life as the Georgia starting quarterback, Beck’s expectations what what he learned from Stetson Bennett. “Carson isn’t necessarily that personality, and you don’t want to be fake either. Guys can sniff it out right away, but I do want to see a guy that is confident in his own skin. A guy that knows that he’s an elite talent, that he can make all the throws that you can possibly make, not only on Saturdays, but on Sundays.”

Murray wants Beck to be himself, but also show some swagger and confidence.

Murray was then asked about fall camp injuries, particularly at running back and offensive line.

Murray doesn’t seem them as a major concern, and said he would rather have the injuries now when Georgia opens with a pair of overmatched opponents. Murray said while he’s not in love with the running back depth chart, whoever is back there will be 3-4 yards at a pop without being touched because of the way the offensive line will function.

Asked for any concern that might keep Georgia fans or Kirby Smart up at night, Murray said any off-the-field trouble, or even distractions now that students are back on campus.

“There’s going to be a lot of distractions, there’s going to be a lot of people loving on them, lot of people buying them free drinks in downtown Athens, which we know is a good time,” Murray said. “Can you stay focused?”
