It’s not often we discuss high school football here but there’s a showdown set to take place Friday night in the state of Georgia that warrants some attention.

The 2020 ESPN high school football showcase series on ESPNU is set to feature Rabun County High School vs. Prince Avenue Christian starting at 8 p.m. ET on ESPNU.

Why is this game of interest?

Georgia five-star quarterback commit Brock Vandagriff is the starter for Prince Avenue Christian while South Carolina five-star quarterback commit Gunner Stockton is the starter for Rabun County High School.

Vandagriff is a senior and the No. 3 quarterback in the nation for the 2021 recruiting cycle, while Stockton is a junior and the No. 2 quarterback prospect in the 2022 recruiting cycle.

Both players are locked in with the respective choices and are not expected to waiver on their college commitments, which means this could be the first of many showdowns the two players have on a nationally televised platform.

Either way, for Georgia and South Carolina fans looking for something to do on Friday evening, there won’t be anything better on TV than this high school matchup.
