After Mike Bobo labored through a 3-9 season that also featured a health scare, it would have been understandable for Colorado State to part ways with its coach.

But the Rams have decided to retain Bobo for a fifth season, according to a statement released by Colorado State athletic director Joe Parker.

Parker said “the 2018 campaign’s outcome is not acceptable,” but he still has faith in Bobo, who played quarterback for Georgia from 1993-97 before serving as an offensive assistant there from 2001-14.

He started his Colorado State tenure by going 7-5 and 5-3 in the Mountain West three straight seasons. But the Rams won just three games this year, which began with Bobo being hospitalized for numbness in his feet.

Yet he did enough to earn the confidence of his athletic director, and Bobo will have a shot to get Colorado State back on track in 2019.
