Coming off 1,000-yard season, Georgia RB Elijah Holyfield announces NFL Draft decision

Make it six.

Another talented Bulldog has announced he will forgo his senior season to declare for the NFL Draft. RB Elijah Holyfield becomes the sixth player of the day to leave UGA. He joins TE Isaac Nauta, WR Riley Ridley and WR Mecole Hardman as early entrants for the draft. QB Justin Fields and TE Luke Ford are transferring.

Holyfield had a breakout season in 2018, recording 159 carries for 1,018 yards (just 31 yards shy of sophomore RB D’Andre Swift for the team lead). He hit triple digits in rushing yards in UGA’s wins over Middle Tennessee State and Kentucky. The announcement was made on social media, where Holyfield share a note addressed to Dawg Nation, thanking the coaches, fans and university.
