Clemson coach Dabo Swinney is not often shy to wade into the national conversations when it comes to news stories around college sports.

This week, the biggest one in some time is the potential move of Texas and Oklahoma to the SEC, and the considerable trickle down effect that could come around the country. So Swinney, who is well aware with Notre Dame’s relationship with the ACC, and has Georgia on the schedule again this season, dropped his own one liner.

“I thought it was breaking news that Notre Dame and Auburn were joining the ACC, no Georgia,” Swinney joked on the ACC Network. “That’s part of the reason we’re playing in Charlotte. Texas, Oklahoma, Georgia, Notre Dame. I have no idea, man, where that is. Obviously Notre Dame’s a great brand. I just don’t get too caught in the schedule, we’re going to play who we’re going to play and just be who we are, line ’em up.”

It is unclear how the ACC would factor into any possible realignment, but there are already reports of Kansas being interested in moving to the Big Ten, and the Big 12 considering merging with the Pac-12. But make no mistake, Swinney will likely have a word once the dust settles.
