Daylen Everette, one of the key pieces in the defensive backfield for Georgia over the past 3 seasons, will return to Athens in 2025 for his final year of eligibility.
The Norfolk, Virginia, native announced the news on his X account, as you can see below:
Everette, a former 5-star recruit in the class of 2022 out of IMG Academy, saw the field right away as a true freshman, posting 13 tackles through 14 games. His best game was a 4-stop performance against in-state rival Georgia Tech.
In 2023, the cornerback’s role grew as he started every game, making 29 tackles and 3.0 tackles for a loss, plus an interception and 5 passes defensed. In 2024, he again started every game and was named a third-team All-SEC player after making 3 interceptions and totaling 58 tackles, the sixth-highest total on the team. He was a major factor in Georgia’s win over Texas, forcing a fumble and intercepting Quinn Ewers while making 7 tackles.
Faced with the decision to declare for the NFL Draft or return for a fourth and final year, Everette chose the latter, making for massive news for the Bulldogs’ defense as they look to not only return to the College Football Playoff, but capture a third national championship in 5 seasons.
