Former Georgia star RB Todd Gurley is on the move from the Los Angeles Rams to the Atlanta Falcons, and already, he’s sparked some controversy in his new home.

That’s because he will wear the No. 21 jersey for the Falcons, which once belonged to the legendary Deion Sanders. It has been worn since Sanders left (notably by Desmond Trufant), but for some reason, it sparked some concerns among the fanbase.

This week, Gurley said Deion asked him not to wear the No. 21 jersey, but Sanders took to Twitter on Sunday to say he was just joking with the star running back:

Gurley doesn’t seem like he’s going to give up the No. 21 jersey, so Atlanta fans will have to get used to seeing the number belong to a running back.

Sanders says he’s cool with it, too, so perhaps this controversy is over.
