Georgia just can’t seem to go multiple weeks without some drama when it comes to football’s most important position.

Following a long wait to see what JT Daniels would bring to the team’s offense, we finally got to see the California native cut loose last weekend. Daniels responded by throwing for over 400 yards and four touchdowns in his debut with the Bulldogs, carrying Georgia to a win over Mississippi State.

Now that Georgia has turned over the keys to its offense to Daniels, D’Wan Mathis has reportedly made the decision to leave the team. This news was first reported by Jake Rowe of Dawgs247.

Mathis has yet to enter the NCAA transfer portal but he did not make the trip to South Carolina and is reportedly planning on leaving the team.

Mathis opened the season as Georgia’s starter against Arkansas but was replaced in the starting lineup by Stetson Bennett.
