Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford received a tremendous hit from Atlanta Falcons DB A.J. Terrell, and Terrell was flagged for roughing the passer on the hit.

Terrell made the hit on a third down and goal play from the Atlanta 7-yard line. Several fans and media questioned the call because Stafford was outside of the pocket and not attempting to pass. Others figured Terrell hit the quarterback too high.

Another former Georgia star, RB D’Andre Swift, scored on the very next play for the Lions to take a 7-0 lead with 4:16 left in the first quarter.
