Through the first 3 weeks of the college football season, nobody has looked better than Georgia.

The No. 2 Bulldogs stymied Clemson to start the season in a matchup of top-5 teams and have since posted blowout wins over UAB and South Carolina.

And while Alabama remains No. 1 in the AP poll, many believe its Georgia who might be the favorite to win a national championship.

Among those is former Bulldogs quarterback Aaron Murray, who spoke about his alma mater on Sirius XM SEC Radio and said Kirby Smart’s defense is the differentiator.

“This is, to me, the best defense I’ve seen Georgia have,” said Murray on the show via 247Sports. “And I know they’ve had some really good ones in the past few years. Alabama had some great defenses, especially from 2009-12. (Georgia’s) defense is right up there with some of the best defenses I’ve seen in the past 10 to 12 years.(They have) speed at every single level and shoot, they’re still missing their starting safety. Just wait till he gets back and see what they can do. But every single position is in the right spot every single time. The schemes are tremendous.”

So does Murray believe Georgia’s the best team in the land right now?

“Based on what we saw this weekend from Alabama and Florida and then what we saw from Georgia — I don’t know, man, Georgia may be the best team in the country,” he said.

The Bulldogs will look to move to 4-0 on the season and 2-0 in SEC play on Saturday at Vanderbilt.
