Georgia adds promising defensive lineman, former 4-star recruit from SEC rival
Georgia didn’t go far to bring in its latest transfer Xzavier McLeod.
McLeod spent 1 season with South Carolina before hitting the portal. He played in 4 games for the Gamecocks this year, including the 24-14 loss to Georgia. McLeod entered the portal on Dec. 4. and will have 4 years of eligibility left.
The former South Carolina defensive lineman was a member of the 2023 class out of Camden (S.C.) High. The 247Sports Composite ranked him as the No. 19 DL and No. 3 South Carolina prospect. His SEC offers outside of Georgia and South Carolina included LSU, Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Texas A&M.

McLeod is the 6th DL to commit to Kirby Smart in the 2024 cycle. He joins 4-star commits Joseph Jonah-Ajonye, Nasir Johnson, Jordan Thomas, and Justin Greene as well as 3-star pledge Nnamdi Ogboko.
The Bulldogs will play Florida State in the Orange Bowl to close out the 2023 campaign. That game will take place on Dec. 30.
