Up against elimination in the Chapel Hill Regional, Georgia flipped a switch in a big way against Hofstra.

After failing to score in the 1st and 2nd innings of the game, the Bulldogs put up an insane 13-run frame in the top of the 3rd inning. That performance included 17 batters coming to the plate in the frame with 13 straight Bulldogs reaching base to open the inning.

The inning opened with Chaney Rogers walking to bring Josh McAllister to the plate. McAllister responded with the first big hit of the game, smashing a 2-run home run out to leftfield. Ben Anderson followed with a solo shot of his own to go back-to-back and make it 3-0 early.

After an error and a walk put Georgia back into a scoring threat, Connor Tate cleared them once again. He blasted a 3-run shot to left-center to make it 6-0.

When Hofstra eventually forced Tate to hit into a bases-loaded double play for the first outs of the inning, it was 12-0 Georgia. The Bulldogs finished the inning with 13 runs on 7 hits, 7 walks, a triple, a double and 3 home runs.

If Georgia rolls to the win, the Bulldogs will be back in action Sunday afternoon at 1 pm ET. They would face the loser of Saturday night’s UNC-VCU matchup in another elimination game.
