Georgia’s defense continues to receive good news for its veteran lineup in 2020, as Malik Herring has said he will return to Athens.

Herrin simply tweeted, “Run it back #DawgNation #Year4” to announce the news.

The junior defensive lineman from Forsyth, Georgia had his best games to close the season with a career-high five tackles each against Georgia Tech and Baylor in the Sugar Bowl.

Herring overall played in 12 of 14 games, and started nine games. He finished with 26 total tackles, had 18 QB pressures, which was third-best among all defenders. He was co-winner of Defensive Most Improved Player award, given at team’s post-season awards gala.

Herring joins S Richard LeCounte III as players who have announced this weekend that they play to return to the Georgia program, and add more veterans to the defense.
