Georgia is a week away from opening the 2020 season at Arkansas, and the Bulldogs have dropped a season trailer.

Several assistant coaches at Georgia spoke on the video, and said things like, “if you stay ready, you don’t have to get ready.” And, on that grass, “that’s our sanctuary.”

It wrapped by saying the Bulldogs are trying to find a way to be SEC champs, and “your Dawgs are back,” sure to send good bumps up the spines of Georgia faithful everywhere.

The biggest story out of Athens this preseason has been the quarterback back following the opt-out decision by Wake Forest transfer Jamie Newman.

Georgia still hasn’t decided on a new starting quarterback, and coach Kirby Smart said this week he would likely wait until the pregame at Arkansas to reveal the QB to the public.

“As far as I can tell, it’s probably going to be a game-time decision,” Smart said.

JT Daniels, a transfer from Southern Cal who was granted permission by the NCAA to play right away, is looking to take over for three-year starter Jake Fromm. But Daniels has yet to be fully cleared from a season-ending knee injury suffered last season.

Redshirt freshman D’Wan Mathis put on an impressive showing with the first team during a scrimmage last weekend at Sanford Stadium, which has sparked speculation that he’s got the upper hand for the starting spot. Mathis has raw talent, and has bounced back from brain surgery to remove a cyst a little more than a year ago.
