The Georgia Bulldogs will be losing long-snapper Nick Moore to graduation after the season, but they’ve already found an experienced replacement.

On Tuesday, Mercer long-snapper Steven Nixon announced that he’d be heading to Athens to play for the Dawgs next season.

As you can see below, Nixon announced his graduate-transfer decision via Twitter on Tuesday night:

Long snappers often don’t get the credit they deserve, and adding an experienced guy like Nixon is a sneaky-good decision from coach Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs.

Now, they won’t have to rely on an untested freshman to handle the snaps, and that should keep the Georgia special-teams units humming along nicely.
