Father of Georgia LB says his son is leaving the program
Georgia senior linebacker Tim Kimbrough is currently taking a leave of absence from the team, Kirby Smart said Wednesday during his press conference.
“Tim’s got a little leave of absence right now,” Smart said Wednesday. “That’s really all I can say about that.”
Kimbrough, however, took to Twitter Wednesday night about making a tough decision he didn’t want to make, and he even thanked Georgia fans.
Kimbrough’s father told the Athens-Banner Herald his son is leaving the UGA program.
“He just made a decision to leave in his best interest,” Tim Kimbrough Sr. said.
“It has to do with some other stuff,” that his father did not want to divulge. “He didn’t get into trouble or nothing like that. It’s just in our best intrests. We’re from Indiana and it’s kind of hard. I can’t do everything 600 miles away and get information like I’m supposed to. He just was very unhappy.”
His status remains unclear at this point.
