Georgia linebacker Tim Kimbrough is currently on a “leave of absence,” according to Kirby Smart during Wednesday’s press conference.

Kimbrough wasn’t at practice Wednesday, and Smart didn’t elaborate on his status.

During his first three seasons, the senior has played in 36 games with seven starts last year. He’s made 104 tackles, including 5.5 for loss. In 2015 alone, Kimbrough made 67 total tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss and one sack.

Kimbrough is projected on the second-team depth chart behind Reggie Carter and Natrez Patrick at this point, but no doubt his experience is a big factor for this group and defense.
