Georgia suffered a big loss on the recruiting trail on Sunday afternoon.

The Bulldogs lost a commitment from 4-star wide receiver Ny Carr. He had been committed to Georgia over 1 year before backing off of that pledge on Sunday.

He shared the news via On3’s Hayes Fawcett:

Carr is an elite prospect nationally and is a Georgia native. He’s the No. 53 overall player and the No. 11 receiver in the country, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 9 player from the state of Georgia.

Carr attends Colquitt County High School in Moultrie, Georgia.

He originally committed to Georgia back in July of 2022. He took his official visit to Athens back in June and was on campus again earlier this month.

Florida State, Auburn and Miami are a few of the programs who have continued to recruit Carr even as he was committed to the Bulldogs.

Georgia is now down to 26 commits in the class of 2024. The group still sits at No. 1 in the country, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
