Georgia running back Nick Chubb can’t slow down.

Despite suffering a “significant” knee injury six months ago that derailed the second half of his sophomore season and, at the time, possibly even his future playing career, Chubb has been pushing the limits of his rehab during spring practice.

And with each day, he seemingly takes yet another step forward.

“He was moving pretty fast, faster than people might think,” teammate and fellow running back Sony Michel told AJC.com. “And he was like, ‘Man I can’t slow down.’ That’s the type of person he is.”

It’s uncertain whether Chubb, who was still on crutches in December, will be ready for the season opener against North Carolina on Sept. 3.

But don’t bet against him.

“He knows it’s a process, so he’s being patient with it,” Michel said. “He’s ready to be back on the field, but at the same time he knows the process, he’s going to work hard every day, he knows every day is another chance to get that leg ready to get him back on the field.”
