Georgia already has a couple of marquee non-conference opponents scheduled out for the next several seasons including the likes of Notre Dame, Virginia and UCLA but the Bulldogs appear to be interested in adding a few more big names to the list in the coming seasons.

While the speculation regarding a renewal of a Clemson series has been out there for a while, it’s now being reported that Texas is in discussions with Georgia for a potential home-and-home series. This information comes via Chip Brown of 247Sports. Keep in mind nothing has been finalized at this point but adding the Longhorns would certainly add some beef to UGA’s future schedules.

According to Brown, the ideal date for the Georgia-Texas series would be 2028 and 2029.

The Longhorns own a 3-1 series advantage over the Bulldogs all-time but Georgia won the last game in the series, which was a 10-9 win in Dallas which came back in 1981. The 1981 matchup was the only game between the schools since 1959.
