Jayden Maiava, a UNLV transfer QB who committed to Georgia on Monday, has changed his mind and instead committed to Southern Cal. The 2023 Mountain West Freshman of the Year, who is from Hawaii, has 3 years of eligibility remaining.
Maiava threw for 3,085 yards and 17 touchdowns with 10 interceptions while he also rushed for 277 yards and 3 touchdowns this past season. He was a 3-star prospect out of high school in Henderson, Nevada when he signed with the Rebels, and considered the No. 53 quarterback in his class, according to the 247Sports Composite.
The father of UNLV quarterback Jayden Maiava tells me that Jayden has flipped from Georgia to USC. He’s transferring to USC, now giving the Trojans some needed depth and competition at the position.

Georgia’s QB situation sits with returning starter Carson Beck, backup Gunner Stockton and incoming freshman Ryan Puglisi after Brock Vandagriff transferred to Kentucky and 5-star Dylan Raiola flipped to Nebraska in recent weeks.
Maiava is the latest move in the USC quarterback room after Caleb Williams is off to the NFL, and Malachi Nelson transferred to Boise State. Backup Miller Moss started the Holiday Bowl and threw for 372 yards, 6 touchdowns and 1 interception in place of Williams, who opted out.
The Trojans didn’t sign a high school quarterback in the 2024 class.
