Jeremy Pruitt cracks a great joke about Georgia coach Kirby Smart's competitiveness
Tennessee coach Jeremy Pruitt isn’t known as much of a jokester, but he was clearly in a good mood on Thursday during his press conference.
One of his best quips came regarding the competitive nature of coaches in the SEC, and he took a playful shot at Georgia’s Kirby Smart.
Pruitt and Smart were both assistants on Nick Saban’s staff at Alabama at the same time, and Pruitt made sure to note that Smart always found his golf ball in the woods when they played:
#Vols coach Jeremy Pruitt on the competiveness of SEC coaches: Let me say this, Kirby Smart is the only person I’ve ever played golf with who always finds his ball in the woods.

Jeremy Pruitt asked about reaching out to other SEC coaches to help deal with COVID.
He notes coaches don't discuss things that could put them at competitive disadvantage, added
"Kirby Smart is the only guy I've played golf with that ALWAYS finds his ball in the woods. Always."

It’s no surprise coaches are competitive in everything they do. It’s probably safe to assume that Pruitt has also come up with some tricks on the golf course.
Now, we’ll see if Smart responds to this playful barb from his former colleague.
