Georgia defensive lineman Jordan Davis saw his terrific season rewarded on Thursday as he was announced as the 2021 Chuck Bednarik Award during the ESPN College Football Awards.

Davis is just the 2nd Bulldog player to win the award, joining program legend David Pollack in 2004.

Davis anchored one of the country’s top defenses in 2021. The Dawgs allowed the fewest points per game in FBS with 9.5 and, thanks in part to Davis, yielded just 81.7 yards rushing, the lowest total in the country. Their 253.9 passing yards allowed per game ranked 2nd in FBS.

A former 3-star recruit out of Charlotte, Davis has developed into a force up front for the Bulldogs. He’ll look to lead them to their 1st national championship since 1980 and end his terrific career on the highest of notes.
