As a part of Georgia’s already talented 2015 recruiting class, the Bulldogs made one of their 25 commitments official Wednesday night with the signing of Chuks Amaechi.

The JUCO was the first player to officially sign with the Bulldogs. Amaechi is the No. 60 overall JUCO prospect according to 247sports.

Amaechi won’t be alone at the linebacker position in the ‘Dawgs 2015 recruiting class. UGA already has three linebacker commits in addition to Amaechi, and could add more by National Signing Day on Feb. 4.

And with the return of veterans like Leonard Floyd and Jordan Jenkins, the starting slots at linebacker will likely be filled. However, with how much defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt likes to utilize linebackers in his 3-4 scheme, Amaechi should easily find a role within the Bulldogs’ defense.

In addition to Amaechi, UGA also has two additional JUCO commits, but both haven’t signed yet.

Offensive tackle DeVondre Seymour will fight for playing time next season, but the ‘Dawgs have a good mix of experience along the offensive line for 2015. And with Kolton Houston receiving clearance for a sixth-year of eligibility, it’ll likely be a year or two before Seymour receives strong consideration at the top of the depth chart.

Running back Chris Carson will also be a nice addition to the ‘Dawgs recruiting class. He recently called off the rest of his official visits and seems firmly committed to UGA.

The three-star running back will probably fall down the depth chart starting out. It’s just hard to imagine Carson beating out guys like Nick Chubb, Sony Michel and Keith Marshall for playing time.

But we’ve all seen how important depth at running back can be with the developments of Todd Gurley’s NCAA rules violations this year, combined with the injuries sustained to Marshall and Michel.

Georgia is also in on four-star JUCO cornerback Justin Martin. According to Justin Rowland of Rivals.com, Martin will officially visit Georgia on Jan. 17.
