Kirby Smart extension coming? Georgia president weighs in on potential deal
Kirby Smart just led Georgia to its first national championship since 1980, making him a very popular person in Athens these days.
He will likely be the Georgia head coach for a long time to come, but first, the school needs to finalize a contract extension for him.
Per Georgia president Jere Morehead on Thursday, there have been positive discussions around a long-term extension for Smart:
UGA president Jere Morehead said the athletic board in executive session “engaged in very positive discussions for a long-term extension," for football coach Kirby Smart. No terms finalized yet.
