Kirby Smart harkens back to DB days, chases Texas WR from sidelines during live play

Kirby Smart’s days as a defensive back are behind him, but he still appears to be making plays on live footballs.
Texas wide receiver Matthew Golden did a double move on Georgia DB Daniel Harris, and it seems instinct took over. Smart followed Golden and Harris from the sidelines and even made a little jump at the impact point when the ball hit Golden’s hands.
Okay, to say Smart made a legitimate play on the ball is a slight exaggeration. But Smart was still following a live play very closely, giving fans a humorous visual to look at juxtaposed with the fact that Golden hauled in an astounding catch.

The start to this one has been about as expected, similar to how the last meeting began: A slopfest. Texas’ defense is playing very well, and Golden is off to his best start of the season.
Thanks to a pair of field goals, the Longhorns lead the Bulldogs 6-3 as we near the end of the first half. Obviously, this is still anyone’s ballgame. Georgia struggled to move the ball at first, but its offense is slowly starting to gel as the game wears on.
