That’s not what Georgia fans were hoping for out of a trip to Auburn.

The Bulldogs rolled into Auburn with a No. 1 ranking and were aiming to maintain an undefeated record on the season. Georgia started strong with a touchdown on the game’s opening drive, but Auburn’s defense quickly settled in and took control.

The Tigers kept the Bulldogs bottled up for much of the game while stretching their lead just before halftime. In the end, Auburn rolled to a huge 40-17 win over Georgia in one of football’s best rivalries.

Georgia will now have to regroup quickly. The Bulldogs still have a shot at the Playoff, but they cannot afford another loss at this point.
