The Georgia Bulldogs have now lost both coordinators this offseason, with DC Mel Tucker leaving for the Colorado head coaching job and OC Jim Chaney leaving for the same position at Tennessee.

The Chaney news on Tuesday night was a bit of a surprise, but now the Bulldogs need to regroup and find a replacement for Chaney ASAP.

On Wednesday afternoon, coach Kirby Smart issued a statement about Chaney leaving, thanking him for the past three years and wishing him the best moving forward:

That’s a classy statement, but Smart probably hopes Chaney’s new job doesn’t go too well, as the Vols and Bulldogs are SEC East rivals.

If Chaney does with Tennessee’s offense what he did with Georgia’s offense, the Bulldogs could have a new challenger in the East in the next couple of years.
