Kirby Smart has heard plenty about Stetson Bennett in recent years, but lately, it’s the NFL that’s shown heavy interest in the Georgia QB.

Even Stephen A. Smith holds him in high regard and shared as much on “First Take” on ESPN with Smart as he noted Bennett’s leadership when Georgia won back-to-back national championships. Smith asked Smart what NFL teams would get in Bennett.

“A talented, really athletic quarterback that has played in an NFL-style system,” Smart said when Smith asked him what kind of quarterback an NFL team might be getting. “He can handle the language, the verbiage, the reads. He anticipates throws and in today’s NFL, you better have an athletic guy who can move around. He’s proven that he can do that at the highest level of college football. I’m excited to see where he goes. I have been blown away with the number of teams that have called, asking questions about Stetson. So I’m excited to see the next couple of days for him.”

Bennett is an interesting prospect to follow this week to see if NFL teams make a move on him given his storybook history at Georgia, and offseason arrest in Dallas. While he had plenty of critics, Bennett finished his career as a college football legend.
