The Georgia Bulldogs enter the season with a quarterback battle brewing between last year’s starter Jake Fromm and 5-star signee Justin Fields.

While Fromm will likely get the Week 1 nod after leading the Bulldogs to the title game last season, Fields will keep the pressure on.

However, behind those two, the Dawgs might not have much depth. On Monday, coach Kirby Smart said backup QB Stetson Bennett IV is considering transfer options (via Macon.com):

“He’s looking at some different options,” Smart. “Stetson has done a tremendous job for us. We’re really excited what he has done for us. We’re exhausting every option to try to keep Stetson with us. We think he’s a very talented young man. I’ve spoke on behalf of that multiple times. We hope we keep him here. He has not made that decision yet.”

Bennett was a walk-on during the 2017 recruiting cycle, holding offers from Columbia, Middle Tennessee, Mercer and Georgia Southern.

It’s safe to say Smart will be monitoring Bennett’s decision-making process in the coming days.
